Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has expressed confidence Ghana will edge past DR Congo in Sunday\u2019s quarterfinal match in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
Ghana lost the top spot to Egypt in the final round of group games and have now travelled up north to Oyem to play the Congolese at the Stade d\u2019Oyem, having found a new home in the city, after topping Group C.
Badu, speaking at the team\u2019s press conference on Saturday January 28, was optimistic the players have the mental fortitude to step up and beat the Congolese on Sunday.
\u201cThey are a very good side and there is absolutely no doubt about that. As you can see, they are one of the top scoring sides of the competition, just like Senegal. They have very good players in Kabananga and Kebano and could be a threat for anyone on any day, but we have spoken as a group and have put the loss to the Egyptians behind us. We know a defeat against the Congolese would bring the competition to an end. We have done a semi-final or better in all the Nations Cup that I have personally been involved in and we want to crown it with a win at some point. It has to be this year and we believe it shall come to pass,\u201d the Udinese midfielder stated.
The Black Stars play the Congolese at the Stade d\u2019Oyem in the quarter-finals on Sunday at 16:00 GMT.<\/p>\n
