The NDC Professionals Forum International is calling on Ghana\u2019s Electoral Commission to as a matter of urgency explain to Ghanaians the suspicious conduct of EC officials during the referendum for the creation of new administrative regions in parts of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The instances captured on tape which has gone viral on social media showed both officials and some voters thumb printing multiple ballots to cast their votes but it was not clear if it was for a YES or NO. The videos are purported to have been taken from the Oti area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President of the NDC Pro Forum International. Arnold Appiah in a statement said\ninasmuch as the referendum was supposed to be nonpartisan, his group believes\nthe purported irregularities recorded especially in the Oti area is a big dent\non the credibility and aptitude of the electoral governing body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat we are seeing on social media is a disgrace to the EC and also a big blow to the sanctity of the electoral process, we cannot allow this to continue and discredit our hard-won democratic credentials\u2026the whole world is watching\u201d, Mr. Appiah said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the statement, the revelations on social\nmedia is a clear indication of what the Jean Mensa EC is capable of doing in\nthe 2020 general elections; but it would be met with the force it deserves. \u201cLooking\nat the videos, the whole process seemed unsupervised and a sham; someone should\nconvince us if the EC Chair is capable of handling the 2020 general elections\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
