The Vice president has\ntouted government\u2019s achievement over the past 23 months in a Facebook comment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vice president wrote: \u201cAs we come to the end of 2018, we have to thank God for all his mercies. We are thankful for what God has made possible for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo and the NPP to accomplish during our first two years in office. In particular he mentioned some of the promises the government had delivered as the Free SHS to reduce the hardship on parents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018We promised to restore teacher training\nallowances to reduce the hardship on teacher trainees and we have delivered. We\npromised to restore nursing training allowances to reduce the hardship on\nnursing trainees and we have delivered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We promised to establish a Zongo Development\nFund and we have delivered. We promised a renewed focus on agriculture through\nthe Planting For Food and Jobs programme and we have delivered.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe promised to issue National ID Cards and we are delivering. We promised to implement a National Property Digital Address System and we have delivered. We promised to digitize the clearance of goods at the ports through paperless ports and we have delivered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We promised to establish three Development\nAuthorities (Northern, Middle Belt and Coastal) and we have delivered. We\npromised a One District One Factory program and we are delivering.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe promised a One Village One Dam program and\nwe are delivering. We promised a One District One Warehouse program and we are\ndelivering. We promised to implement a Nation Builders Corps program to reduce\nthe hardships on the graduate unemployed and we have delivered<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We promised to implement a National\nEntrepreneurship and Innovation Program to provide support and reduce hardships\nof entrepreneurs and we have delivered. We promised to rehabilitate VALCO to\nresume operations and we have delivered.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe promised to leverage our natural resources\nto obtain a $2 billion innovative infrastructure financing arrangement with\nSinohydro and we have delivered. We promised to establish integrated bauxite\nand aluminium industry and we are delivering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We promised to implement mobile money\ninteroperability and we have delivered. We promised to reduce electricity\nprices and we have delivered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018We promised to reduce the hardship in\nobtaining a driver\u2019s license and we have delivered. We promised to reduce the\nhardship in obtaining a passport and we have delivered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We promised to reduce the hardships in\nrenewing the national health insurance and we have delivered. We promised to\nestablish an Office of the Special Prosecutor on Corruption and we have\ndelivered.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe promised to revive Ghana\u2019s railways and we\nare on course. We promised a transparent allocation of Ghana\u2019s oil blocs and we\nhave delivered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We promised to reverse the trend of declining\neconomic growth and we have delivered. We promised to restore discipline in the\nmanagement of our public finances and we have delivered with lower fiscal\ndeficits.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe promised to pass a fiscal Responsibility\nAct and we have delivered. We promised to establish a Fiscal Council and we\nhave delivered, and we promised to establish a Financial Stability Council and\nwe have delivered. We promised to reduce inflation to single digits and we have\ndelivered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We promised to reduce interest rates and we\nare delivering. We promised to keep our exchange rate relatively stable even in\nthe midst of global volatilities and we have delivered.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe promised to reverse Ghana\u2019s trade position\nwith the rest of the world from deficit to surplus and we have delivered. We\npromised to reduce taxes and we reduced and abolished 17 different taxes in two\nyears and we have delivered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We promised to revive the NHIS and we have\ncleared the GHC1.2 billion arrears inherited under the NHIS. The NHIS is\nworking again. We have delivered. We promised to move away from a predominance\nof sole sourcing to tendering in procurement and we have delivered.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe promised to bring about a change from\ndestructive \u2018galamsey\u2019 activities to a more regulated small scale mining\nactivities and we have delivered. We promised to reduce the hardships of the\ndisabled and increase the share of the DACF to persons with disabilities by\n50%. We have delivered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We promised to double the Capitation Grant and\nwe have delivered. We promised to create six new regions and we have\ndelivered.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt has been two years of hard but fruitful\nwork for the people of Ghana. We thank God for President Nana Addo Dankwa\nAkufo-Addo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has been an honour for me Dr. Mahamudu\nBawumia to serve as his Vice-President.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
