Mr Frank Somiah Andoh, a former Director of Elections at the \nEvalue-Ajomoro-Gwira has expressed disappointment at the campaign \nmessage carried out by Former President John Dramani Mahama in his \nWestern Region campaign tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said his campaign message lacked the kind of focus that delegates \nwere looking for, as the former President failed to give them new \nmessages that could help to unseat President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo\n in the 2020 general election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHis message lacked the reassuring ingredients during his stopovers \nin various constituencies, which has left many of the delegates \ndisappointed and disarmed of the fervour that is needed for the 2020 \nelection,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr Andoh who made this in a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency\n in Accra on Thursday said most delegates at Ellembelle, Tarkwa and \nPrestea Huni Valley constituencies shared the same sentiments with him, \nwhen he interacted with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDelegates were full of expectation for comforting reassurance that \nthe neglect they suffered under him from 2012 to 2016 will not be \nrepeated if he is made flagbearer again and subsequently voted into \npower. However, all that the former President did was to ask the \ndelegates to rally up in support of him,\u201d Mr Somiah-Andoh said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said what was more worrying was the fact that the former President did not even make room for delegates to ask him questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDuring his days in office as President, the NDC party, its Founder \nand grassroots were neglected leading to the massive apathy that led to \nour loss in the 2016 election by over 900,000 votes. Delegates therefore\n expected that the former President\u2019s message will address these, but so\n far, they have not touched on these very important issues,\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr Andoh said it seemed to him that the former President was in hurry\n to just touch base in the constituencies and rush away as everything \nwas hurriedly done without even providing refreshments for delegates in \ncertain cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr Daniel Mawuli Agbesi, the Party\u2019s Mpohor Constituency \nCommunication Officer in the same statement expressed dissatisfaction at\n the way delegates were treated during the stopovers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMany of our brothers and sisters travelled from far places to the \nmeeting grounds, but were left on their own without anything to even aid\n them by way of transportation back to where they came from\u201d, Mr Agbesi \nadded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He called on the campaign team of the former President to step up \ntheir game in order to avoid the humiliating defeat the party \nexperienced in the 2016 general election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also called on other aspirants to inspire the delegates with \nworkable messages that would catapult the party back in power come 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
