MTN Ghana Foundation will be closing submission of entries for the MTN Heroes of Change Season 5 on the January 18, 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Members of the public are being reminded to nominate individuals who \nare making positive difference in their communities through various \nprojects or exceptional social work for the MTN Heroes of Change Season \n5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the close of submission, all projects received will be reviewed\n and shortlisted. Shortlisted projects will be pruned to 100 and \nthereafter to 40 and finally to 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Team will then be dispatched into the communities to authenticate the stories of nominees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The stories of the top 10 finalists will be filmed and featured in a \n13-week television show\/series after which a grand finale event will be \nheld to announce the winners of the various categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ultimate winner will receive a cash price of GHC100, 000 and \ncategory winners would be awarded with GHC30,000 each to be invested in \ntheir projects for wider impact, while the rest of the six heroes will \neach be given GHC10, 000 to support their projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commenting on the MTN Heroes of Change Season 5, the Corporate \nServices Executive, Mr. Samuel Koranteng said \u201cwe want to honour and \nshowcase the work of the many unsung heroes in the communities, who are \nusually not recognized for their work. So we want the public to nominate\n ordinary people doing extraordinary things in their communities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the special category, which was introduced in Season IV \nhad been revised in Season 5 to include youth advocates. The others are \njournalists, radio and television presenters, musicians, actors and \nsports personalities. The winners in this category will each receive a \ncitation and monetary award which will be invested in any CSR project of\n their choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The final selection of winners of the MTN Heroes of Change is done by\n an independent panel of judges with diverse experience and expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MTN Heroes of Change Season 5 was launched in November 2018. Since \nthe inception of MTN Heroes of Change in July 2013, a total of forty \npeople had been identified and recognised on MTN Heroes of Change \nplatform for committing their personal resources to improve their \ncommunities and brighten lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four out of the total number emerged ultimate winners. They are Dr. \nAbrokwa-Yenkyera, a plastic surgeon and founder of Grafts Foundation, \nMadam Paulina Opei, founder of the Save Our Lives Orphanage, Genevieve \nBasigha and Naomi Esi Amoah of Blessed Home Orphanage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MTN Heroes of Change has won several awards. The awards include \u2014 2016 IPR Best Community Relations Programme of the Year and was also awarded CSR Programme of the Year 2015 by the Head of State Awards (HoSA) Scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
