A renowned legal practitioner Justice Srem-Sai has waded into the \nrape allegations leveled against the President of the Ghana Bar \nAssociation questioning the status of the response issued by Mr. Tony \nForson to the claim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One Kuukuwa Andam revealed on Facebook that she has filed a criminal case against the renowned lawyer in Washington DC, USA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the lady, the alleged rape occurred in the US in \nDecember 2012, and to buttress her claim, she attached what she referred\n to as the details of the hotel in which she was allegedly assaulted, as\n well as the communication between her and the GBA boss on Social Media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a response, lawyers for the GBA President said: \u201cOur client, \nAnthony Forson JNR\u2019s attention has been drawn to a post on one Miss \nKuukuwa Andam\u2019s Facebook page that he committed an offence of rape \nagainst her sometime in 2012.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMr. Forson sincerely and emphatically denies that he has committed \nany such offense against the said Miss Kuukuwa Andam. He maintains that \nthe allegations are palpably false and in due course he will be \nvindicated\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMr. Forson will like to thank all those who have by various means \nshown concern and support for him and his family during this trying \nperiod\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commenting on the development on Facebook, Justice Srem-Sai wondered \nwhich part of the allegation was being denied by the senior lawyer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe statements look very much like a denial until you pause to ask \nyourself \u2013 what EXACTLY has the statement denied? Point is \u2013 if only \nwe\u2019re allowed to apply the same level of scrutiny we applied to the \nwoman\u2019s story to the gentleman\u2019s public statement, we\u2019ll probably be \nasking \u2013 what exactly has the statement denied? What exactly, what \nexactly, what 333xxxactly?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday, something revolutionary happened here \u2013 a woman named two \ngentlemen of the Ghana Bar as her rapists. Some questioned every aspect \nof her story, including her mental state (and it didn\u2019t matter that the \nwrite-up was more coherent and far more comprehensible than a lot of the\n comments which questioned her mental state). On the other hand, \nanti-rape campaigners hailed her for her exceptional courage in a \ncountry which lives under severe self-denial of the existence of a culture of sexual abuse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, one of the gentlemen, the very sociable and likeable GBA \nPresident, decides to issue a public statement through his lawyers. In \nCAPITAL LETTERS.
