President Nana Akufo-Addo has summoned an emergency cabinet meeting over the ongoing Menzgold dealership saga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting, Graphic Online gathers, is aimed at weighing the options\n available to government to get the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the\n embattled gold dealership firm, Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as \nNAM 1, who is currently in the custody of the Emirati authorities back \nto Ghana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thousands of customers of the company have been calling for \ngovernment’s intervention to retrieve their  locked up investments with \nthe company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A delegation of government officials and Nana Appiah Mensah’s father \nwas expected to travel to the Persian Gulf country to negotiate his \nrelease, however government sources say arrangements for the trip are \nyet to be consumated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Graphic Online has also learnt authorities in Dubai are insisting on a\n firm commitment on the part of Ghanaian security authorities to \ninvestigate, and bring to book persons involved in the swindling of the \nDubai based company of a whopping $51 million, as well as their refund \nof the money.<\/ins>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Now they are holding him as a bargaining chip and the government itself to ransom, insisting that the security apparatus hasn’t showed much interest in looking for the swindlers. They want their money, that is all they are demanding,” the source said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
