The\n Homicide Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana \nPolice Service has taken over investigations in the killing of an \nundercover investigator with investigative firm, Tiger Eye PI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ahmed Hussein-Suale was shot and killed on Wednesday at the Accra suburb of Madina while on his way home from a gathering with family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\n man, who is said to be investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas\u2019 key\n partner, was shot thrice \u2013 twice in the chest and once in the neck. He \ndied instantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tiger\n Eye PI has condemned the ghastly killing of their team member and \ncalled for immediate investigations to uncover the perpetrators of the \ncrime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\n killing has shocked the entire nation and while some are calling on the\n police to probe the matter, others have pointed fingers at Assin \nCentral MP Kennedy Agyapong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr\n Agyapong, many believe is a prime suspect in the killing because he has\n previously threatened to deal with the investigator following his \ninvolvement in the Number 12 investigative documentary which the Tiger \nEye PI team championed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Director\n of Police Public Affairs, ACP David Eklu told Joy News the account of \nthe public and especially those who witnessed the incident is crucial in\n assisting the investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe\n people who committed this crime have been around that environment for a\n while and as we have already indicated and have been putting out every \nweek, crime prevention tips, I believe that if somebody had alerted the \npolice, perhaps, we could have saved our colleague.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo\n we are emphasising that people should pay attention to the weekly crime\n prevention tips that we put out so that some of these issues that raise\n suspicion within the community can quickly be brought to the attention \nof the police so that we can act on it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ahmed was Anas\u2019 key partner<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said further visits to the crime scene have been made by detectives of the CID. They have asked questions and gathered more information to help the perpetrators face the full rigours of the law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In relation to a video in which MP Agyapong made the threatening comments, ACP Eklu said police have spoken to the MP in person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe have also requested the original tape from Net 2 Television where the recording was done to assist us in investigations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\n are working pretty fast,\u201d ACP Eklu assured adding, the police are in \ntouch with the family of the deceased to ensure that the criminals are \napprehended to face the law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\n hopes that Mr Agyapong\u2019s account and the many others they will gather \nfrom by their preliminary investigations will help the police build a \nstrong case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ACP\n Eklu also disclosed that following the threats on Ahmed\u2019s life due to \nhis involvement in the Number 12 documentary, some form of police \nprotection was offered the investigator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\n is obvious Ahmed did not have that protection at the time of his \nkilling, but ACP Eklu assured that the remaining Tiger Eye PI team will \nbe protected by the police even as it continues investigations into the \nissue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ahmed\u2019s body had been deposited at the Police Hospital awaiting investigations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
