Former\n President Jerry John Rawlings has supported calls on the police to \nthoroughly investigate the killing of undercover investigator, Ahmed Hussein-Suale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAhmed-Suale\u2019s\n killing cannot be allowed to end up like the others \u2013 unresolved. We \nhave to get to the bottom of these questionable circumstances and their \nimplications for our wider safety,\u201d Flt. Lt. Rawlings posted on his \nTwitter handle Saturday, January 19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\n former President also blames the undercover investigator\u2019s untimely \ndeath on comments by Assin Central Parliamentarian, Kennedy Agyapong, \nwho months ago encouraged violence against him after revealing his \nidentity live on NET2 TV which he [Agyapong] owns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\n are here today largely because of one man recklessly unmasked an \ninvestigative reporter and issued threats of violence,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hussein-Suale, a member of the private investigative firm, Tiger Eye PI, owned by renowned undercover\n journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, was gunned down Wednesday night at \nMadina, in Accra, while on his way to the hospital to see his ailing \nchild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was hit twice at the chest and once in the neck killing him instantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Funeral\n rights were performed in line with Islamic customs before his remains \nwere laid to rest Friday, January 19 at the Madina cemetery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following\n the murder of the private investigator, there is mounting pressure on \nthe police to question politician, Kennedy Agyapong who months ago \ncalled deceased to be beaten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr.\n Hussein-Suale and colleagues produced the #Number12 documentary which \nexposed corruption in Ghana football in mid-2018 and resulted in the \nresignation of GFA President, Kwasi Nyantakyi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They\n came under heavy personal attack from people against the work, \nincluding the governing New Patriotic Party\u2019s (NPP) parliamentarian for \nAssin Central, Kennedy Agyapong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr\n Agyapong who is now described by Prof. Attafuah as \u201ca person of \ninterest\u201d, used his television station NET2 to encourage violence \nagainst the investigator, offering to pay personally for such violence, \ndisclosed deceased\u2019s whereabouts and showed photographs of him during a \nlive broadcast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scope of probe<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile,\n criminologist, Professor Kenneth Agyemang Attafuah says there is no \nreason for police to narrow probe into the killing of Ahmed Hussein-Suale on politician, Kennedy Agyapong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Attafuah stated on Newsfile on Joy FM that, although Kennedy Agyapong would have to answer questions following his comments on NET2 TV which encouraged violence against the investigator, it is also crucial for the state security agency to widen their scope of the investigations in order to hunt down the real killers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
