The\n suspect in the kidnapping of three girls in Takoradi revealed in court \nMonday that a police investigator helped him break jail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Samuel Oudotek Wills told the court he does not know the name of the said officer but he can identify him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides that officer, the suspect said\u00a0one Kwesi helped him with oil which facilitated his cutting of the metal bars used to barricade the windows of the cell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr.\n Wills, however, noted that he is not aware of the current location of \nthe said Kwesi and pleaded for some time from the court to locate him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is currently being tried for escaping from lawful custody. The case has been adjourned to February 18, 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wills\u00a0is in the capital, Accra currently helping the police with investigations into\u00a0the whereabouts of the three kidnapped girls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\n escaped from custody after he was picked up in connection to the \nkidnappings. Police say he has admitted to the kidnappings but is \nnon-cooperative as to their whereabouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe keeps sending us to wrong locations,\u201d the Western regional police commander told Joy News.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What has the family of the girls been saying?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The families of the girls have, however, expressed their displeasure with current proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Kidnapped<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

They said the return of the girls is of paramount interest to them; they have no interest in the criminal prosecutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Gender and Social Protection Minister, Cynthia Morrison\u00a0recently visited the families, assuring them that the girls are alive<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2026so if they are alive, where are they,\u201d a relative quizzed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\n sister of Ruth Quayson, one of the kidnapped girls told Joy News\u2019 \nIna-Thalia Quansah that they are giving the authorities a week\u2019s \nultimatum or there would be a mammoth demonstration in the Western \nregional capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Priscilla Bentum was abducted in August 2018 while Ruth Quayson and Mantebea Koranchie\u00a0were taken in December the same year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
