The National Disaster Management Organisation<\/a> (NADMO) within the Sekondi-Takoradi Metro of the Western Region on 12th February 2019 extended its daily routine education on fire outbreaks, flooding and other related issues to a Non-Governmental Organization, BOAFO Y3 NA KUW members at the forecourt of the Sekondi Youth Centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking to Spice Fm reporter Benjamin Bray, Mrs. Emma Adu-Boafo – the NADMO Administrator at the STMA said the essence of taking such initiative was to minimize or put measures in place to curve the menace of flooding and fire outbreak in the metropolis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs Adu-Boafo emphasized that Ketan and Nkomompo environs are flood points, urged the indigenes to engage in the monthly sanitation to avoid flooding incidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the issue of fire outbreaks in various apartments in the communities, Mrs Emma Adu-Boafo appealed to households and food vendors who use liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for their daily activities to cultivate the habit of regular maintenance of their gas cylinders and stoves to avoid the menace of fire disasters in the metropolis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ‘Boafo Ye Na’ members expressed their appreciation for the education they received; most especially on the usage of LPG in the household<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They further appealed to the various LPG vendors in the Metropolis to help them check their cylinders at anytime they purchase gas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
