The Police Administration says it is investigating claims that a senior CID officer investigating the murder of Abuakwa North MP, J B Danquah Adu tried to hit on the widow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\n Inspector-General of Police, David Asante Apeatu said, a committee had \nbeen set up to investigate the claim by the widow, Ivy Heward-Mills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was speaking at a news conference in Accra, Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\n widow in a post on Facebook to mark three years after the murder of J.B\n Danquah Adu alleged that the unnamed CID officer who headed the \nHomicide Unit at the time made sexual advances at her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She\n said she felt sexually harassed during a meeting with all-men senior \nofficers at the CID Headquarters where an officer asked her, \u201cso \nmadam, do you wear waist beads?\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c…And\n if you think that\u2019s inappropriate, try that Sunday morning when one of \nthose men; a man at the helm of investigating my husband\u2019s murder, \nthought it sensible to muster the sheer unadorned temerity, call me and \ntell me how beautiful\/sexy he thinks I am and give me reasons why I must\n marry him; an already married man. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYes,\n he had the audacity… and this was the head of a certain significant \nunit at the CID… and I\u2019m supposed to trust that they did a great job? \nMay God forgive him,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Responding\n to a question about what the police administration was doing about the \nallegations, the IGP disclosed that the widow has been contacted as part\n of the investigations to provide further information to aid the \ninvestigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe have set up an investigative committee to investigate that matter,\u201d the IGP told the media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\n added: \u201cIn fact, she has already been spoken to by one of our \ncommissioners to invite her and she\u2019s given us a time to come so it\u2019s an\n ongoing investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mysterious death<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

J.B Danquah Adu was stabbed to death in a bizarre case of robbery-gone-wrong on the night of Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at his Shiashie residence in Accra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prime suspect, Daniel Asiedu, was arrested two days after the incident. His accomplice was picked up several weeks later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the widow, Ivy Heward-Mills has criticised the snail pace at which the state is prosecuting the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the said post on Facebook, Ms Heward-Mills said she and her children are yet to see any sign of justice for the late MP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
