The suspect at the centre of the kidnapping of some three girls in \nthe Western Region, Sam Udoetuk Wills, failed to produce his witness, \none Kwesi, before the Takoradi District court on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wills was directed by the court last week to produce Kwesi whom he \nclaimed was among those who aided his escape from police custody in \nDecember 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The suspect is currently facing three charges of escaping from lawful custody, destroying public property and resisting arrest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nHe was arraigned last Monday, February 11, where he admitted to two out of the three charges but denied resisting arrest.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The presiding judge, Michael Ampadu, on grounds of ensuring justice \ntold Wills to produce the witness, Kwesi, before a ruling is given on \nthe issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wills, however, told the court today, Monday, that he went to \nKansawurodo with BNI officials in search of the witness but they \ncouldn\u2019t find Kwesi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Head of Operation at the BNI, Lord Nyantwi, who confirmed the \nfruitless search for the witness, however, appealed to the court to \nadjourn the case to allow them some time with the witness to aid their \ninvestigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Presiding Judge Michael Ampadu took into account the appeal by the \ninvestigators for more time with the witness to aid their investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also advised family and interested parties to allow the court to follow due process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He adjourned the case to March 4, 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
