Former President John Mahama has eulogized former Education Minister, Lee Ocran<\/a><\/strong> who passed away on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mahama who said he is saddened by the demise of the NDC stalwart<\/a> described him as \u201ca fine gentleman.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\u201cIt\u2019s been a sad morning for me. I just want to express my condolences \nto [Auntie] Sati and the children on the passing of our comrade, Lee \nOcran. Lee has been a fighter in the trenches. We\u2019ve been in the \ntrenches together. For everybody who knows him, we have lost a very fine\n member of our party. May his soul rest in perfect peace,\u201d he said on \nFriday.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nLee Ocran who was also a former High Commissioner to South Africa \naccording to the sources died on Thursday night at his residence in \nAccra.\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The National Democratic Congress stalwart had taken ill days earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking in an interview on Accra based Radio Gold on Friday, Mahama said he will be visiting the family of Lee Ocran later in the day to console them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nLee Ocran who was also a former High Commissioner to South Africa \naccording to the sources died on Thursday night at his residence in \nAccra.\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking in an interview on Accra based Radio Gold on Friday, Mahama said he will be visiting the family of Lee Ocran later in the day to console them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI will be visiting his family this afternoon to extend my condolences. I visited him while he was in the hospital. Our hope was that he would get better, unfortunately, it\u2019s God who gives and he takes and so my sincerest condolences to Lee Ocran\u2019s family especially Auntie Sati,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Ocran also served as the chairman of the Volta River Authority\u2019s\u00a0Board of Directors in the Mahama administration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
