The Ministry of Local government and Rural Development in collaboration with Business Enabling Environment Project (BEEP) is set to roll out the user community training on construction Permit Processing System (PPS) in March this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is part of efforts to reduce the stress associated with the acquisition of building permit by individuals, contractors and all involved in the putting up of structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PPS is aimed at\nreducing the stress and inconveniences contractors and individuals bare in\nobtaining permits for structures in the country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PPS will be an online\nportal where applicants can apply for permit and all other transactions in\nrelation to permit acquisitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Briefing a section of the\nmedia in Accra on Tuesday 26, 2019, Samuel Duodo, a technical advisor to the Ministry\nof Local Government and Rural Development said this initiative will bridge the\ngaps and potholes in the system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was of the view that\nonline transactions will save time and also do away with human interference which\nwill help reduce the period for the approval of permits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an interview with aptnewsghana.com<\/a>, consultant\nfor PPS Nana Kofi Anane Adjei said, it has become necessary for them to upgrade\nin this era of technology where everything is backed by its usage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that with the\nonline application now, applicants will not worry about their applications been\nlocked up without access to them. He added that consultants for PPS are ever\nready to start the initialization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rollout will be done nationwide with Accra Metropolitan Assembly (A.M.A.)<\/a> and its environs been the first point of contact due to the fact that they constitute about eighty (80) percent in the building of structures in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
