President Akufo-Addo, has re-assigned some Regional Ministers and their deputies whose jurisdictions were affected following the creation of six new regions. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A statement signed Thursday, February 28, by \nCommunications Director at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, said changes \ntake immediate effect. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new regions -Western North, Ahafo, \nBono East, Ahafo, Oti, North East and Savanna- which were carved out of \nfour existing regions, came into existence early this month following \nthe public presentation of the Constitutional Instrument (C.I) to their \nrespective traditional and opinion leaders at separate functions at the \nforecourt of the Flagstaff House. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the new appointments, the \nMunicipal Chief Executive for Sunyani Municipality, Mrs. Evelyn Ama \nKumi-Richardson, is the Minister-designate for Bono Region while Member \nof Parliament for Jaman North constituency, Siaka Stevens, has been \nappointed the Deputy Minister-designate for the region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the \nBono East Region, Member of Parliament for Atebubu\/Amantin constituency,\n Kofi Amoakohene, has been appointed the Minister-designate with the \nDeputy Minister for Bono Region (former Brong Ahafo Region) who is also \nthe MP Techiman North, Martin Oti Gyarko, being named as the Deputy \nMinister for the region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The release further named Minister for \nformer Brong Ahafo Region, Evans Opoku Bobie, also MP for Asunafo North \nconstituency as to head the Ahafo Region while Tano South MP, Benjamin \nYeboah Sekyere, is the Deputy Minister-designate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below is the rest of the appointments made to the new regions as well as the changes in the existing four regions: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Salifu\n Adam Braimah, Member of Parliament for Salaga South, is the \nMinister-designate for Savannah Region. Samuel Yeyu Tika, former \nparliamentary candidate for Mankarigu Daboya constituency, is the Deputy\n Minister-designate for the Savannah Region; <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Solomon Namliit \nBoar, Member of Parliament for Bunkpurugu constituency and former Deputy\n Minister for Northern Region, is the Ministerdesignate for North East \nRegion. Tahiru Tia Ahmed, an educationist from Gambaga, is the Deputy \nMinister-designate for North East Region; <\/p>\n\n\n\n

John Benam, former \nMember of Parliament for Zabzugu constituency, is the Deputy \nMinister-designate for Northern Region. Hon. Salifu Saeed remains the \nMinister for Northern Region; <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu, Member of \nParliament for Bibiani\/Anhwiaso\/Bekwai constituency and former Deputy \nMinister for Health, is the Minister-designate for Western North Region.\n Hon. Alex Tetteh, Member of Parliament for Sefwi Akontombra \nconstituency, is the Deputy Minister-designate for Western North Region;\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, Member of Parliament for Takoradi \nconstituency and former Deputy Minister for Aviation, is the \nMinister-designate for Western Region. Hon. Eugenia Gifty Kusi remains \nDeputy Minister for Western Region; <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Johnson Avuletey is the \nDeputy Minister-designate for Volta Region. Dr. Archibald Letsa remains \nMinister for Volta Region; and <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kwasi Owusu Yeboah, Ghana\u2019s \nAmbassador to the Togolese Republic, is the Minister-designate for the \nOti Region. Maxwell Blagodzi, the former Deputy Minister for Volta \nRegion, is the Deputy Minister for Oti Region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The President is hopeful that Parliament will expedite the vetting of the Regional Ministers-designate and Regional deputy Ministers-designate to enable them assume their respective offices promptly, in order to begin and accelerate the establishment of the new regions, the statement indicated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
