trainees tasked to serve with integrity"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Dr Ibrahim Anyars, Chief Executive Officer of the Nation Builders Corps\n(NABCO), has tasked NABCO trainees to show integrity in all their endeavours as\nthey begin to pursue their dreams and aspirations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said NABCO was\nenvisioned to create a new sense of urgency among the youth, and as one of the\nbiggest workforce for the country they were expected to behave well to get\nbetter results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said the\norganisation was keen to emphasise on its core values; which were knowledge,\npunctuality and integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr Anyars said this in\nan interview with the Ghana News Agency on the side line of the opening\nceremony of a Workshop on Oracle Tools in Accra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was organised by\nthe Ministry of Finance under the Public Financial Management Reform Project\n(PFMRP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The five-day training\nworkshop, which is part of sustainability measures for supporting Ghana\u2019s\nPublic Financial Management Systems; covering, Financials, Hyperion, Payroll\nand HRMIS, would train officers from NABCO to serve as Cadres of Oracle\nTechnical and Functional Support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Project seeks to\nachieve: improvement in budget management, financial control and reporting of\nthe Government of Ghana with the aim of enhancing fiscal discipline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr Anyars said the\ninitiative was to further ensure that the trainees had clearer pathways to gain\nknowledge for their careers, and one of the key things for career development\nwas integrity; recognising the investment being made and ensuring that the\nnation benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said this was one\nof the lead programs under the Digitize Ghana module, and the youth were going\nto be trained to deal with Ghana\u2019s public financial management systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr Anyars told GNA\nthat there was a plan to scale this, to affect the near 16,000 NABCO trainees\nthey had under the Digitize Ghana module, because there was some immense\nbenefit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr Mohammed Sani\nAbdulai, Project Director of PFMRP, described the initiative as a long-term\nplan for government\u2019s core systems, as this would enable Ghana as a country\ntake charge of its governance systems when PFMRP which was being funded by the\nWorld Bank ends in December 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said 100 trainees were being trained for the first week, but then they intend having <a href=\"https:\/\/education.oracle.com\/training-by-product\">Oracle University <\/a>taking up the training after the first phase, for the next six months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Project Director\nencouraged the trainees to be committed, as the project intends to build up\nGhanaians to support the Government of Ghana in the running of government\u2019s own\noracle platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Franklin Asare,\nOracle Country Manager, said about 36 per cent of employers globally, reports\nof talent shortage, hence the workshop would enable the trainees to acquire\nknowledge and support the Oracle database used by government and other\ninstitutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He underscored the\nneed to have database engineers around the world, particularly in Ghana since\nthey were not enough. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was therefore,\nhopeful
