The Twin-City of Sekondi-Takoradi for many is synonymous to the den of entertainment greats like the late Paapa Yankson and CK Mann, Paulina Oduro, Kofi Benstil and the youngster Kofi Kinaaata. Sekondi-Takoradi was once also known for producing the best sea farers. Night life in Taadi as always, is awesome. Business and entertainment is a great blend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Being one of only two regions in the country with a sea port and an emerging oil and gas industry, Sekondi-Takoradi keeps attracting people with diverse business backgrounds and cultures especially from neigbouring countries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mention of ‘Taadi’ anywhere in Ghana stimulates excitement especially because of the type of \u2018fante\u2019 one would speak. I dare say that it is the wish of most people I have encountered in Accra to visit ‘Taadi’ at least once in their life time; only if the current headlines concerning the city does not change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from the recent Takoradi Market Circle baby thief who was apprehended; for over 6 months now and still counting, 3 young ladies are still with their supposed kidnapers. \u00a0One of the suspects in police custody, Samuel Udoeterg Wills, a Nigerian had been living in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis for a while and struck acquaintance with his victims. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to police, Udoeterg is part of a kidnapping cartel known to have kidnapped girls in Ghana and Nigeria. Members of that cartel and Udoeterg Wills, according to police, have already served prison terms in Nigeria for kidnapping some girls there before relocating to Ghana to do same. This raises many questions as to how many of these miscreants have infiltrated the twin-city. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In view of the prevailing insecurity in the metropolis, the OSHAssociation UK, Ghana region<\/a> is organizing a day\u2019s workshop on \u201cCommunity Safety\u201d on Saturday March 30, 2019 at Shippers Council Hall, Takoradi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Administrator for OSHAssociation UK, Ghana region, Richmond Jonas Quartey explains that it has become necessary that people become conscious of their security wherever they live. He indicated that the expanding cosmopolitan nature of Sekondi-Takoradi has security implications with type of suspect currently in custody in connection with the kidnappings at Diabene, Kwansaworodo and Nkroful communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
