President Akufo-Addo at a town hall meeting with Ghanaians in\nthe United States touted his government\u2019s ability to handle \u2018dumsor\u2019, adding\nthat the $2.4 billion legacy debts he inherited from the Mahama government is\nbeing cleared and consequently Ghana is exporting energy to Burkina Faso and that\nTogo will follow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the President of the NDC Professionals Forum\nInternational \u2013 North America, Anorld Appiah in a reaction from his US base has\npointed out that it is dishonest on the part of President Akufo-Addo to keep\ndeceiving the uninformed, and blame Ex-President Mahama for reasons difficult\nto find, after over two years of \u201cscamming\u201d Ghanaians to assume governance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Appiah explained to aptnewsghana.com that it is unfortunate\u201d\nthe President has not taken the trouble to understand the energy sector legacy\ndebt, the ESLA law, the sinking fund, and all machinery put in place to handle\ninvestment debts in the sector and its revenue inflows, as bequeathed to him. Clearly\nthe President still doesn\u2019t have full appreciation of what he inherited in the\nenergy sector\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cExcess energy capacity and generation for export was\ninherited. He actually didn\u2019t need to do anything in that sector except to\nbenefit from yields and keep track on prudently managing revenue inflows from\nthe sacrifices of his predecessor\u201d he added. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further advised President Akufo-Addo to stop the sugar-coated lies to impress Ghanaians in the diaspora. \u201cUnfortunately, revenue and debt payment in the sector are being managed poorly, as we speak. Load shedding is now back with us<\/a>\u201d he noted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arnold Appiah further noted that \u201cYou acquire debt to enable\nyou transform assets. The President should beg the question in his mind\u2014how\nwere we able to export energy? Did the infrastructure for production and export\ncome from the sky? No, from the acquired debt\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI can\u2019t seem to get over this lies!!!! Nana and his team always tell lies especially when they are overseas painting a rather rosy picture of what they are achieving in Ghana. They keep lying about Ghana beyond aid!! When in fact No Aid will come to Ghana because we are a Middle-Income Country<\/a>….so it\u2019s not a question of weaning ourselves out of Aid but rather, the Aid won\u2019t come again as we turned MIC\u201d, he concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
