The Ghana Police Service has revealed that it is getting closer to finding three kidnapped girls<\/a>, a saga that has grabbed the nation\u2019s attention for months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe know where the girls are,\u201d the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department DCOP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah<\/a> told reporters Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She\n appealed to families of the victims to \u201ckeep on keeping on.\u201d The \nfamilies have been desperate for news of their daughters and their \nwhereabouts since the first, Priscilla Bentum, was kidnapped in August 2018. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two\n more girls were grabbed in December before the story grabbed nationwide\n attention. Joy News has launched a #bringbackourTaadigirls campaign \nrepeatedly in news bulletins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A suspect in the case, a Nigerian named Samuel Udoetuk Wills was assaulted in and outside court<\/a> the last time he appeared March 4, 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\n CID boss while confident of wrapping up the saga also urged patience \nassuring the public, \u201cthey are safe…very soon they will be brought \nback home\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She declined to give details of their location, explaining \u201cwe don\u2019t want to compromise their safety\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But\n Rebecca Quayson, a sister to one of the victims cast doubt about the \npolice\u2019 assurances. \u201cI don\u2019t believe it\u201d, she told JoyNews Midday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She\n explained, her mother was on the phone with DCOP Tiwaa Addo-Danquah \nonly yesterday. Rebecca Quayson said during the entire conversation, \nnone of the disclosures at the press conference was relayed to the \ndesperate woman. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She\n demanded to hear at least the voice of his sister as proof of progress \notherwise they will just have to wait until they see their sister \u201cface \nto face.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
