Although our musicians are doing some great music lately, it is an \nundeniable fact that some songs that have become hits have not deserved \nit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the years, some musicians have survived with average songs but Highlife artiste, Kofi Kinaata<\/a>, says it\u2019s about time Ghanaians appreciate good music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt takes divine intervention for a good song to blow up in Ghana. I know of so many good songs that are not hits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was difficult for a song like \u201cChocho Mucho\u201d by Bless to become a\n hit just because he didn\u2019t have the money to push it but other songs I \ndon\u2019t even regard as songs are doing so well,\u201d he told Showbiz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The musician stated  DJs must be blamed for how good songs struggle to get attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe DJs will not play a song, especially from an up-and-coming \nartiste, but would prefer to play a bad song from a popular artiste \nwhich is not cool,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kinaata explained that he would prefer to do a good song that would not be popular to a bad song that will be a hit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI want to be noted for doing good songs. Songs like \n\u201cSusuka,\u201d \u201cSweetie Pie,\u201d \u201cConfession,\u201d \u201cSingle\u201d and \u201cFree\u201d are great \nsongs everyone can relate to and I am happy with the positive feedback I\n always get,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last month, Kinaata released a new song \u201cNever Again\u201d featuring \nShatta Wale and he says the backlash on social media is too much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAlthough I am no more with High Grade Family, the fans are not so \ncool with me featuring the SM Boss because they feel High Grade Family \nand Shatta Movement are not cool. Some said I am a sellout. Others said I\n shouldn\u2019t have featured Shatta Wale,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Kinaata, he is cool with every musician and he doesn\u2019t \nmind featuring anyone whom he feels he should collaborate with. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kinaata<\/a> released \u2018Never Again\u2019 with dancehall artiste Shatta Wale<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asked who his new management is after exiting High Grade \nFamily, Kinaata said he was on his own for now but was still looking for\n a committed management team to work with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kinaata cautioned musicians to place emphasis on the content of their\n songs and not just release songs without paying attention to what goes \ninto them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI have never written a song in anticipation of it becoming hit. My \naim is first to get good lyrics and a good storyline for everyone to \nrelate to.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf it becomes a hit in the process fine and if it does not, I am not so bothered. Ghanaians will gradually appreciate your work and tag you as that good artiste who is always known for doing great songs,\u201d he added.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
