He would later add that a Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officer also helped him break out of police cell after handing him a hacksaw blade hidden in bread.

Although he claimed he could identify the officer, he could not use all opportunities presented by the judge to fish out his accomplice.

At the previous sitting, the court asked Sam Wills with the assistance of the Police and the BNI to locate his other witnesses, Kwesi and John whom he had earlier led security agencies on a wild-goose-chase for, without success.

In his sentencing, the judge, His Worship, Michael Ampadu found his testimony on how he escaped inconsistent.

He was convicted of all charges and his sentences are to run concurrently. His substantive allegation of kidnapping remains under investigation.

There was improved police presence during his conviction. At the previous court hearing March 4, 2019, the suspect was attacked inside the court and also assaulted outside it, forcing him to leave his sandals behind.

credit: myjoyonline.com

A kidnap suspect who escaped from jail in December 2018 has been sentenced to 18 months in prison by a Takoradi Magistrate court in the Western region. […]

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false
_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[15
451,75,455
post-3436","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-metro-news","tag-bringbackourtaadigirls","tag-crime","tag-kidnapping
"1536x1536":"https://www.aptnewsghana.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/samuel-Udotek-Wills.jpg","2048x2048":"https://www.aptnewsghana.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/samuel-Udotek-Wills.jpg
https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/bf711d428bc8613649773651afe632ce7b73d253d98f0e9ed26da056197e99b5?s=96&d=mm&r=g
0
A kidnap suspect who escaped from jail in December 2018 has been sentenced to 18 months in prison by a Takoradi Magistrate court in the Western region. [...]
Metro News
["https://www.aptnewsghana.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/samuel-Udotek-Wills.jpg",600,400,false
https://www.aptnewsghana.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/samuel-Udotek-Wills-300x200.jpg",300,200,true
https://www.aptnewsghana.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/samuel-Udotek-Wills-150x150.jpg",150,150,true
https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/bf711d428bc8613649773651afe632ce7b73d253d98f0e9ed26da056197e99b5?s=96&d=mm&r=g
Metro News

<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.8 -
