Joe Ghartey has said the railway sector has completed the infrastructure development of the Railway University located in the Essikado Traditional Area but to begin operations this year.<\/p>\n<p>He said the University of Mines and Technology are on the process of finishing the intellectual works to enable the Railway University to start admitting students for the academic year.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Hon. Joe Ghartey, the new master plan to be launched this year will continue to justify Sekondi-Takoradi as the heartbeat of the railway sector.<\/p>\n<p>He reiterated that the railway development that President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo seeks to revive will come into full operation with 4,000 kilometers of rail lines worth about 30 billion dollars.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Essikado-Ketan MP, an international rating agency has indicated that within the next decade the most development in Ghana will be derived from the railway sector. He therefore urged Ghanaians and the next generation to uphold and supervise the sector.<\/p>\n<p>Hon. Joe Ghartey was speaking at the grand durbar of the Chiefs and people of the Essikado Traditional Area at the climax of this year\u2019s Kuntum festival. The theme for the 2019 Kuntum festival was &#8221; THE NATURE OF CORRUPTION AND MORALITY IN INDIGENOUS AFRICAN COMMUNITY FOR NATION BUILDING&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the theme, he said government of Ghana is committed to tackling corruption and anti-morality and has appointed a special prosecutor who is not under the jurisdiction of the Attorney General to deal with matters of corruption.
