Assini Gov&#8217;t Hospital tops Ghana Health Service regional peer review league"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Half Assini Government Hospital in the Jomoro District has topped the 2019 Peer Review League Table of the Ghana Health Service at the end of the 2019 annual Peer Review week which seeks to access all twenty (20) government health facilities in both the Western and the Western North Regions.<\/p>\n<p>It is believed that before the inception of Peer Review activities in the region, hospitals were &#8220;No-Go-Areas&#8221; without basic things such as place of convenience, poor infection prevention control and unavailability of drugs among others.<\/p>\n<p>The Peer Review League according to the Ghana Health Service, is meant to improve the quality of service delivery by health professionals and other health workers in the various health facilities in the western regions.<\/p>\n<p>The Deputy Director for Clinical Care at the Ghana Health Service, Western Region, Dr. Atsu Dodor said Peer Review assessment is based on areas such as Environment, Infection Prevention And Control, Emergency Service and Systems, Quality Assurance, Clinical Practices, Client Care, Occupational Health And Safety and Governance.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Atsu Dodor revealed that Peer Review assessment has led to a tremendous improvement in the quality of health services in the western
