Some members of the Bibiani Ahwiaso Bekwai Municipal Assembly have expressed their displeasure on the reduction in the amount of Ex-Gratia by the minister of local government and rural development, Hajia Alima Mahama.<\/p>\n
Speaking to aptnewsghana.Com reporter, Benjamin Bray, the thirty-six [36] elected assembly members including one [1] female who have accomplished their mandatory duties for the past four years lamented that, at the last assembly meeting they agreed on a budget approval of Ghc4,000 per each assembly member as end of service benefit.<\/p>\n
According to them after the last assembly meeting which ended the services of Assembly Members few weeks ago, the minister of local government then issued a directive to the Bibiani Ahwianso Bekwai Assembly to pay Gh\u00a21,500 instead of Gh\u00a2 4,000 to Assembly Members as their Ex-Gratia.<\/p>\n
They are of the view that this deduction of the amount due them as ex-gratia is a deliberate attempt by Hon. Hajia Alima Mahama to thwart the assembly decision, which they are not pleased with it.<\/p>\n
The Bibiani Anhwianso Bekwai Municipal Assembly members are calling on the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development to reconsider her decision of deducting the actual sum agreed at the last assembly meeting else they will advise themselves.<\/p>\n
