Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr. Felix Fosu-Agyeman on Tuesday 28th January 2020 held his ‘traditional’ interaction with the Western Regional press corp at the MTTD conference room at the Regional Police Headquarters at Sekondi.<\/p>\n

As has always been the tradition, DCOP Fosu-Agyeman officially introduced himself to journalists in the Western Region as the new commander and also announced his plans as\u00a0 the new head of the regional police administration.<\/p>\n

DCOP Fosu-Agyeman emphasized that the police administration has realized that there is the need to sensitize community members on personal security issues where he added that provision of security is a shared responsibility between the police and the general public.<\/p>\n

According to him, community members should be vigilant<\/a>, alert, watchful and observant to stay away from from suspicious people.<\/p>\n

The new regional police commander indicated that kidnapping issues nowadays have been dominant with its causes including unemployment rate, poverty, illiteracy, religion, greediness, politics and corruption.<\/p>\n

He said children are the key targets, but in other to prevent kidnapping<\/a>. He therefore urged children not to talk to strangers and avoid them even if they seem friendly and are on the verge of offering gifts and also avoid vehicle with tinted glasses.<\/p>\n

Moreover, children should avoid spontaneous or unscheduled trips to unfamiliar locations, desist from playing in deserted buildings and isolated places.<\/p>\n

DCOP Fosu-Agyeman who assumed duties at the regional police administration from DCOP Redeemer Vincent Dedjoe as the western regional police commander therefore urged parents and guardians to have effective communication with their wards to upgrade themselves with the locations of their wards wherever they enter.<\/p>\n
