The President of the NDC Professionals Forum \u2013 North America, said the rejection of the 2022 budget is a win for Ghanaians. \u201cWe have to be proud of ourselves as Ghanaians in our parliamentary democracy; that as a country, we are also strengthening the tenets of democracy where we can disagree to a point where, a budget can be rejected by the minority group in parliament” he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr. Arnold Appiah was commenting on the 2022 budget during the ProForum Hour on Radio Gold streamed on facebook on Sunday. According to him, The NDC minority have done creditably well for fighting for the vulnerable by rejecting the killer-tax proposed in the rejected budget. He explained that the comment and responses with regards to the country\u2019s economy shows a loss of confidence in the system. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSocially the NPP claim to be a capitalist group of which we in the NDC are socialist, we believe in equity where we believe that all hands are not equal. That the state that has that power, that purchasing strength, the ability to run the affairs of the country would look at the feeble in society and strengthen them to move and put themselves together. The NPP on the other side says that each one for himself God for us all. We don’t care whether you have or you don’t have\u201d.\u00a0 \u00a0Mr. Appiah lamented that the present NPP administration are amassing wealth to the detriment of the vulnerable.<\/span><\/p>\n

He accused the NPP of running the country with rhetoric, egos and arrogance and warned that it would catch up with them. \u201cThere is also the saying that when you lie, you have to put up a hundred lies to defend that one lie. It is those lies that, the NPP has been telling Ghana that is catching up with them\u201d. He further said, \u201cWhen the NPP started their rhetoric when they came to government in 2017, that they are here to make life better for Ghanaians, schools is going to be free, we will have factories everywhere, employment is going to be everywhere, energy is going to be stabilized\u2026fuel prices would go down, water would be flowing so on and so forth; so many promises to the extent that President Akufo Addo in his wisdom together with his so called technical men, the most competent ever in the history of our lives in Ghana; put themselves together they decided to employ over 120 ministers setting high record standards.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the President of the NDC ProForum North America, there were concerns that they were over burdening the tax payer with all the appointees who are going to enjoy luxurious favors from the state coffers. \u201cGhanaians warned about good returns from the size of the Ministers but, Akuffo Addo in parliament; I recall State of the Nation, said let wait and see what his ministers would do instead of us complaining. Akufo Addo said Ghanaians were complaining too much. Let’s see the competence his ministers would show, the Vice President who he touted as an economic wizkid will dazzle as head of the economic management team; his so called Finance Minister from Yale and the various Professors and degree holders that they claim they have; let see how they dazzle on the floor\u201d. But in all of the assurances, Mr. Appiah claims that, One district one factory became a scam, One village one dam, became a scam, his energy minister had to resign. So in circles, everything that they touched became a scam; to a point where the government had to borrow to pay school fees\u00a0because of the poorly implemented Free SHS policy.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSo from the word go if you fumble, you fumble your way through the entire process because you did not plan. You were not scientific with your analysis, and your strategy was entirely wrong. And this is what the reality is today\u201d; he noted.<\/span><\/p>\n
