Communication Expert Samuel Ato Afful has cautioned Ghanaians not to be overly excited about the \u201cAsempa budget\u201d though it exudes hope. According to him, it is only a proposal that needs implementation.<\/p>\n
\u201cGovernance is about giving hope to people, and listening to the highlights of the budget by the Finance Minister, it gives hope to Ghanaians, and it gives hope to people. I mean look at the tax sweep and all that\u201d; he said.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Melody News\u2019 Joe Bright on his view on the budget, the communication expert cautioned that the document presented by the government is just a proposal and will need implementation.<\/p>\n
A lecturer at the Africa University College of Communication \u2013 Mr Ato Afful believes for the first time in recent years, the NPP government\u2019s maiden budget presented to parliament on Thursday March 2, 2017 by the Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta sounded simple in language that most Ghanaians could understand.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is not just the NDC government, but even the Kufour government, budget didn\u2019t sound that simple in language as compared to what was read in the house yesterday; so people seemed to understood this thing; however my challenge is that it sounded like it\u2019s been done already but it is not done yet\u201d; \u00a0he said.<\/p>\n
Mr Ato Afful explained that the proposals presented by way of the budget would have to go through parliamentary approval before it could be implemented. \u201cSo people shouldn\u2019t get overly excited about it. That is all I can say about the budget\u2026it gives hope and for me that\u2019s most important.\u201d<\/p>\n
