Black Stars manager Avram Grant has insisted he is not bothered about the threat presented by high-scoring DR Congo ahead of their quarter-final clash at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon on Sunday January 29.
The Ghanaians have only scored two goals in three games at the CAN whilst the Congolese have found the net on six occasions in their three group games. With Ghana likely to miss the services of star striker Asamoah Gyan for the all-important game, Avram Grant expressed confidence in his players to pull through with or without the skipper.
\u201cLook, every coach has concerns of his opponents ahead of games and that is normal. Our group was a tough one and you can see that by the number of goals that were scored by all four teams. No team scored more than one goal. It tells you it was a very competitive one. I\u2019m not saying their (Congolese) group was an easy one. All I\u2019m trying to say is that every game is different from the last one and I\u2019m sure the Congolese know that and would also be approaching this game differently from their three group games. All we have to do is to score one more goal than them in the game and we are through to the semis and that will surely be our approach to the game,\u201d he said at the team\u2019s press conference on Saturday January 28.
Touching on the availability of the injured Asamoah Gyan for the game, Avram Grant said: \u201cWe will have to wait and see if he will be in the game on Sunday, but I have trusted players who can also come in and make a difference.\u201d<\/p>\n
