‘SATAN WITH US’
Often, we are faced with the reality of who the ‘satan’ is. But we are told that he has touched base on earth long time ago, before the civilization of Eden. It is said and so true that he was top among the angels in heaven before a failed rebellion against our lord GOD almighty creator of heaven and earth and all that is seen and unseen.
The two forces; one for ‘darkness’ and the other for ‘light’ can be appreciated in the accounts of the Holy Bible (Genesis 1:25-27). Here we understand that even the beast of the earth and everything that creeps upon it were created after His kind and ‘their kind’. So we draw the conclusion that it is the spirit that possesses them at any particular time that make them ‘good’ or ‘evil’.
In my own opinion, there may have been other creations elsewhere but the account given in the Holy Book of our existence and the love we have from the architect of our being is the ancestry of Adam and Eve (Genesis 5:1-32). The third to come into the scene after God created the first couple was the ‘satan’ the devil; in the guise of a serpent, to work on the senses of Eve to rebel against her creator and provider.
The satan is indeed with us. In all spheres of life we should look out for what makes us stray away from God. It is especially so in marriage because it holds the core of what society wishes to achieve in orderliness. Marriage is the foundation of society. It is what God has ordained, man and woman should go through the trials and tribulations together; He is with us.
What ensued between Adam and Eve is a story that showed how natural it is to blame others who are also God’s handiworks when we break His rules. God did not buy the excuse of Adam, that it’s the woman He God gave him to be his companion and the serpent who lured him into tasting the fruit of good and evil (Genesis 3:12). But God forgave His children Adam and Eve, but with a ‘positive’ curse on them with assigned roles in life (Genesis 3:14-22).
The intent if you would agree with me is a defense against the devil- satan; the forces of darkness. Remember, the devil finds work for the idle hands. The couple were idling about and feasting on whatever the Garden of Eden had to offer except the fruit of ‘good and evil’; they never worked for anything. After that encounter with satan, God made coats of skins and clothed the couple.
…Unto Adam also and his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them. And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat and live forever: So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life . (Genesis 3:21-24)
Our purpose on earth if we are to heed to our calling should be that which draws us closer to the sense of God. He is peace, offers tranquility, love, caring and all true pleasures innate in our being from creation. The Satan is the direct opposite of our supreme creator in character; if it is what can be deduced from Lucifer then God himself came down to earth, descended into hell and conquered the forces of darkness. We saw him, in Jesus Christ the Messiah. The answer of who God is; is the Holy Trinity. Who then, is the satan? He is with us and can be you or I; we encounter him in our daily lives. He is the direct opposite of the Christ in us and can take over our lives if we are not careful. Jesus Christ is ‘Immanuel’- God with us.
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you (John 14: 17).
Adam and his spouse were thrown out of the Garden of Eden, and given a change of environment. God forgave them but probably wanted them to put the past behind them and start a new page on a new land that Adam would have to cultivate. Satan the devil manifested itself in their offspring Cane. (Genesis 4:7-8) ). Then the story of the first murder of a fellow human being created out of conception by a woman; that which was assigned to Eve was told. Cane was cursed by God for taking life out of his kind. For if God saw the sacrifices and accepted that of Abel against that of Cane for the fact that he was selfish and could not see reason with giving God an attractive offering, we would say that satan had taken over Cane.
I want to convey the message to the Assembly of the one God we all serve that the satan is indeed a metaphor, an unseen, but true to those who experience the hell it offers and the confusions that the kingdom of darkness brings to those who strayed away.
I have strayed away from God before. And if you are sincere with yourself you would admit that it was hell or near hell were it not for the intervention of God through Jesus Christ our lord who gave/gives us all the knowledge and power to overcome the devil.
Where two or three are gathered, He is indeed in our midst when we are walking on His path. The satan lurks in the shadows to direct our attention to plots of stealing, lies and deceit, murder, physical and verbal assault, fornication and adultery and others in their likes.
The understanding I deduce from the webite of the Satanic Temple is vague. But then the understanding and what I would entreat all Christians to do is to be at peace with their kind and ultimately God.
According to the Satanic Group, in Oklahoma state in the United States of America in their defense to put up a monument for satan like what has been done for God – with the ten commandments; the Satanic Temple explains that it “seeks to separate Religion from Superstition by acknowledging religious belief as a metaphorical framework with which we construct a narrative context for our goals and works. The website said,”Satan stands as the ultimate icon for the selfless revolt against tyranny, free & rational inquiry, and the responsible pursuit of happiness.
Through the lens of the Christian faith – Catholicism, Pope Francis says, “Through humility, soul searching, and prayerful contemplation we have gained a new understanding of certain dogmas. The church no longer believes in a literal hell where people suffer.
This doctrine is incompatible with the infinite love of God. God is not a judge but a friend and a lover of humanity. God seeks not to condemn but only to embrace. Like the fable of Adam and Eve, we see hell as a literary device. Hell is merely a metaphor for the isolated soul, which like all souls ultimately will be united in love with God”.
Satan is indeed with us and his kingdom is hell!!…and all religions are true in the hearts of those who believe them. Shalom.
