Ashantigold will give Kotoko good test for Coton Sports clash- Kwesi Appiah

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah believes Asante Kotoko’s clash with Ashantigold in the JAK Cup will be a good test for the Reds ahead of their CAF CC play-offs game against Coton Sports.

The regional rivals will compete for the coveted J.A Kuffuor Cup, in honour of the ex-President’s 80th birthday celebrations.

And Kwesi Appiah, who is an ambassador of the JAK Cup says the game will offer the Porcupine Warriors the needed test for their Confederations Cup match against Coton Sports de Garoua.

“This is a good test for Krobea Asante Kotoko as they prepare towards the Coton Sport game. Had it been against a lower side it would have been a different game altogether. AshantiGold will give Kotoko a good game on Sunday”, he told Kumasi-based  Angel FM.

When asked whether Kotoko coach, Charles Kwablah Akonnor, should parade his top squad for the Sunday’s encounter, he said, “parading your stars for the game is a decision for the coach as Kotoko will have another week before the Coton Sport game, so I believe both sides will parade their best squad to entertain the fans. I pray for an injury-free game for both sides”.

Asante Kotoko will travel for the first leg in Cameroon before hosting the Elite One champions a week later in Kumasi.
