Dr. Kwabena Adjei is dead.

The NDC Professionals Forum International North America has sent its condolences to the bereaved family, wife and children of former Chairman of the NDC Dr. Kwabena Adjei which sad event was reported earlier today at the Ridge hospital in Accra.

“Indeed, the umbrella family has lost a gem; a courageous comrade who anchored our election 2008 victory. At this moment of grief, we salute Dr. Kwabena Adjei’s exemplary life in academia, politics and business”. a statement from the group stated.

The release signed by its President Arnold Appiah, further consoled that; “As professionals and social democrats, it is our pledge to his parting soul that we will ensure that the ideals he stood for as one of us, are upheld to develop Ghana; which he served relentlessly; from Jasikan to Accra”.

“Our special heartfelt sympathy to Mrs. Comfort Adubea Adjei and children. The NDC Pro-forum North America sympathize with you as the National Democratic Congress and indeed the entire nation recover from the lost of a priceless asset in Ghana’s democratic dispensation”.

Dr. Kwabena Adjei graduated with a PhD in Research Methods and Statistics in Psychology from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland, U.K in 1973.

He began his political journey in 1978, as an elected member of the Jasikan District Council in the Volta region.

He was a Member of Parliament (MP) for Biakoye in the Volta Region in 1992, 1996 and 2000 and was the Majority Chief Whip in 1994. Deputy Minister for Lands and Forestry and made the substantive Minister. In 1998 to 2000, he was the Majority Leader of the House.

The Psychology lecturer had up-and-downs in his political career after he lost his National Chairmanship position to Mr. Kofi Portuphy 2014. That ended his bid for a third tenure after first winning the position in 2005 while the party was in opposition. He was re-elected in 2009.
