Proforum North America urges all professionals in Ghana to support ‘Kum Yen Preko’ demo

NDC Proforum North America

The NDC Proforum – North America extends warm felicitations and commendation to the Coalition of Social Justice (CSJ) for organizing the “Kum yen Preko” demonstration scheduled for Tuesday July 9. The Ghanaian diaspora community is utterly disappointed in President Akufo-Addo and his cohorts for deceiving Ghanaians to buy into his lofty promises which led to his victory.

We are by this statement urging all professionals to come out in their numbers to march against the ‘Hardship and Oppression’ which has engulfed our republic under the Akufo-Addo-led misgovernment. All sectors of Ghana’s economy have been badly hit by the ‘con game’ of this regime and the onus falls on professionals to let the masses know the on-going rot.

Teachers, bankers, CEO’s, lawyers, artisans, actors/actresses, musicians, doctors, engineers, media practitioners and indeed every Ghanaian in a professional venture have this street protest to vent their frustrations under our threatened democracy and economic stagnation.

Like most compatriots, we had hope the Akufo-Addo administration could improve, or at least maintain the momentum built by his predecessor in Ghana’s transformational agenda. But his promises have turned out to be a ‘scam’; too glaring to ignore and it’s time we let it out by supporting the “Kum yen Preko”. The rank and file of the NDC Proforum back home are encouraged to turn up for this all-important march to galvanize support to redeem the nation and put the President in check.

Ghana under Akufo-Addo is unbearable and we implore all Ghanaians to rise up and defend the cause of press freedom, our fundamental human rights and resist the oppression under this regime that has stalled our economic progress.

We urge demonstrators to respect security arrangements as always and in the same vain expect a professional policing on the day for an incident-free democratic exercise.

God bless our homeland Ghana…and help us to resist the oppressor’s rule with all our will and might…

Signed.

Arnold Appiah

President
