OSHAssociation UK – Ghana Region has organized a workshop on “Rescue and Emergency Preparedness for all security agencies in Takoradi”.
Lecturing the participants, the Head of DVLA Western Region, Mr. Emmanuel T.K. Narh said “it is about time that motorists are discouraged from their normal practice of “chew and pour, pass and forget” attitude for obtaining driver’s, riders, and operator’s license without considering further refresher training of skills or knowledge”.
He further cautioned that, “It is about time motorist see the importance of skill and judgment to eradicate hazards in their quest of system of vehicle control as continuous just like it is said to governance”
According to Mr. Narh, the stake holding authorities of the industry must make available a psyche motor training and testing machinery to perform psyching from time to time and also after road crash. He said if motorists adhere to the above stipulated safety precautionary/preventive measures, it would drastically reduce the incessant carnage on our road.
He revealed that in the year 2021; there were 15, 972 reported accident cases involving 28,152 vehicles and 2,924 persons killed with 2,930 pedestrians knock downs.
