Kwabena Kwabena denies divorce rumours

Highlife artiste Kwabena Kwabena has said everything is fine between him and his wife, contrary to rumours on social media that his marriage has hit the rocks.

Word has been going round that Kwabena Kwabena’s union with Abena Owusuaa has collapsed, with the singer parting ways with his wife after his manager’s pastor revealed Abena Owusuaa used a charm to win the musician’s heart.

But speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo, host of Accra100.5FM’s mid-morning show, Ayekoo Ayekoo, on Friday January 27, Kwabena Kwabena said: “People just hide behind social media to write all manner of things. It is not healthy when everybody is saying all manner of things without recourse to the truth.

“Even if there were a problem, such speculation is not healthy. All I can say is that Kwabena Kwabena is fine, everything is fine.”

Touching on his music career, the ‘Dadie Anoma’ hit maker said: “I will say that my first inspiration came from my father. My father was someone who loved music a lot when I was growing up. And so I remember I heard all kinds of music my father listened to. He was a wide listener. He loved reggae, jazz, hip hop, local and traditional music, and so I will say that was where I really began.”

When asked whether he regretted not pursuing a more lucrative career sports given his talents as a footballer, he said: “It depends on how you measure riches. I don’t measure riches that way. I feel that riches are when you are in a position where you are at peace with your heart and very comfortable with whatever you are doing. So I will say music has been the best thing ever to happen to me and I will never regret ever being a musician.”
