Amenfi Central DCE position: “I am stepping in to help” – Abass Mohamed

The Wassa Amenfi Central Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party NPP, Abass Mohammed has given indication that the district is engulfed with enormous challenges that needs his caliber to surmount.

“Looking at the numerous problems that we inherited in the constituency, I wish to come in to help develop the constituency and the district as a whole, there are lots of problems in the district” – Mr Abass Mohammed who has been lobbying for District Chief executive(DCE),has explained.

On why he should be appointed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo as DCE, he told Apt News’ Dominic Awuni “as I speak to you now there are a lot of road that are not completed, no single one road have been tarred in the constituency”

Furthermore, “We don’t have hospital in the district; even the World Bank Secondary School it is not yet completed; our schools are not adequate and not adequate teachers”.

He also laments that the District Assembly does not have facilities to accommodate public servants and other government workers. “We also have water problems allover”, he said.

“We also have water problems all over, we don’t have adequate schools nor do we have adequate teachers, these are a lot of problems we have”

Mr. Abass said “the issue of unemployment of the youth and our boys; I have come in to save that situation, we have to get a link both within and outside the district and even at the international level just to get employment for our people”.

“We have the connections outside, we have some NGOs that I can bring in to help us”, he said.

Abass Mohammed was contesting the DCE position with two other candidates who have all gone through vetting. He told Apt News he cannot reveal the intentions of the other candidates, but he believes in his ability to do the job.

He also called for unified support for whoever is approved by President Akufo Addo to represent his vision in the District.

“I can’t say of the rest, we all have our missions, we all have our intentions, for me I think I will be able to do it. That is the reason why I contested. As for rest, we are contesting; they are my contestants and we are not fighting, we are all one. However, whoever is approved, we all have to help the person to achieve his objective”.
