A/R: NPP macho men attack REGSEC coordinator

A group of well-built men from the governing New Patriotic Party’s Delta Force allegedly stormed the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council on Friday 24 March to stop one Mr Adjei who has been appointed as the regional security coordinator from performing his duties.

According to members of the party’s private security arm, they cannot work with Mr Adjei since he is not native to the region.

The members said they have petitioned the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah, on the matter and he has promised to deal with it. The taskforce, however, stormed the office to stop Mr Adjei from working on Friday.

According to Class News’ regional correspondent, Hafiz Tijani, Mr Adjei was allegedly manhandled and dragged from his office, but was saved by police officers who were called in to maintain calm.

In the heat of the struggle, doors and some office items were destroyed while blood stains were seen on the office floor.
