NAM 1 ‘hiding’ over fears for his life; we can’t disclose his location – Menzgold PRO

Nana Appiah Mensah in a jet

Nii Armah Amaterifio, the acting Director of Communication of the now-troubled gold dealership firm, Menzgold has said he cannot disclose the whereabouts of his boss, Nana Appiah Mensah widely known as NAM 1 for security reasons.

In the wake of the blues of the company late last year, NAM 1 was very active on Twitter giving assurances to customers he was prepared to cough out their investments to the last time but just needed to sort himself out with the regulators.

In subsequent months, reports emerged he had left the country quietly after pressure kept mounting on him to pay the money or security agencies have him arrested to show them where he had lodged their investments.

The whole issue appeared to have taken a dramatic turn on Wednesday January 9, 2019 when the nephew of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Gabby Otchere-Darko dropped a bombshell about the whereabouts of the owner of embattled gold dealership company, Nana Appiah Mensah.

His post sought to suggest he was arrested and granted bail but has since jumped bail and absconded confirming media reports the businessman who operated a Ponzi scheme had indeed left the country with his family.

A fortnight ago, MyNewsGh.com reported of how NAM 1 took his family out of Ghana following pressure from clients for his arrest and his properties including his private jet sold in order to defray part of the locked up investments of clients.

But speaking on Accra Fm as to where his boss could be, Nii Armah Amaterifio responded “His life is at risk, and, so, for some security reasons, we cannot disclose where he is at the moment”.
