W/R: Chief Justice launches special mentoring programme in Sekondi

The Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana, Her Ladyship Justice Sophia A. B. Akuffo officially outdoored the Judicial Service Special Mentoring Programme in the Western Region with about 100 students both in the second cycle and basic schools.

Addressing the gathering at the forecourt of the Sekondi High Court on Tuesday, January 15th 2019, the Judicial Secretary, Mrs Cynthia Pamela Addo hinted that Her Ladyship Justice Sophia Akuffo introduced the special edition of the mentoring programme under the theme, “I Pledge Myself To The Service Of Ghana” when she assumed office as the Chief Justice of the Republic.

The special mentoring programme she said was originally organized for students in the second circle institution with the aim of exposing them to the functions of the Judiciary and the administration of Justice in Ghana.

“The programme served as a platform for young students to interact with members of the legal profession, they also had the opportunity to observe court proceedings and freely ask questions”.

“The scope of the programme was broadened to include pupils from basic schools with the renewed focus on imbuing in the young people virtues of patriotism and selfless service to the nation”, she stressed.

It is the hope of the Judicial Service that people’s interest in the legal profession will be sufficiently rekindled with the passion to be the best version of themselves as pupils from the basic schools even get committed to serve Ghana with dedication and integrity through the special mentoring program.

The Special Mentoring Programme is been run in the Central, Eastern, Volta and Western Regions respectively.
