Ghana Water Company halts production at Bosomase Pump Station

Western Region Manager of the Ghana Water Company Limited Ing. Mark Cudjoe has revealed that the company is no more drawing water from the pump station at Bosomase in the Wassa East District.

He explained they are unable to draw water because water levels at the station have gone below levels that will enable them operate.

Ing. Cudjoe said the Bosomase pump station draws water at a level of 1.5 meters. However he said that the level has dropped so much so that it has gone below the gauge used in measuring the pumping levels.

He stated that already the company has lost one of two machines used in drawing water adding they are now afraid to use the remaining one.

Ing. Cudjoe said the Bosomase pump station serves as a backup in the event they are unable to draw water from Daboase.

Given the situation at Bosomase currently the regional director fears Sekondi – Takoradi is headed for a disaster should something happen at the Daboase pump station.
