Fijai- Effia Nkwanta bypass to be completed by January 2019- Asabea Construction Ltd

Chief Executive Officer for Asabea Construction and Engineering Limited, Mr. Samuel Ofori Larbi has assured residents of the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolis of completing asphaltic works on the Fijai-Effia Nkwanta Bypass by end of January this year.

Progress of work on the road is estimated at 80 percent, and is within schedule. Currently the exit lane from the Cape Coast- Takoradi Highway is completed and work has begun steadily on the opposite lane.

Mr Ofori Larbi in an exclusive interview with Skyy News’ Abraham Mensah cried that some spiritual attacks on the project caused a major setback in executing it. He added that it took divine intervention for him to resume work on the road after a period of delay.

“The challenges are not financial alone. As for finances, I know I can do the work. That’s why I am doing it, though government has not paid me a cedi on the road. I’ve almost finished the work. But we were having some spiritual challenges on this road”, he claimed.

Mr Ofori Larbi disclosed that designs for the construction of pavement walkways along both lanes of the dual carriage road have been submitted for approval.

“We are now waiting for the designs for the walkway to be sent to Accra for approval. We have a walkway from Fijai Junction to the hospital which will constructed. People can walk to the hospital. So the walkway is very important”, Mr Ofori Larbi emphasized.

He however cautioned motorist to be cautious of speeding on the road, and that urged pedestrian to be vigilante when crossing it.
