The National Democratic Congress NDC has charged journalists to help debunk claims of ruling NPP’s deceitful 1 District 1 Factory claims.

Western Regional Organizer Mr. Japhet Baidoo said NDC as a political party cannot dictate to the media as to how they must discharge their duties, but according to him, “We can’t be so wicked to ourselves in the name of journalism”.

Mr. Baidoo was speaking at a meeting of the Western Regional Executives of Ghana’s biggest opposition party with the media in the Western Region to brainstorm on issues affecting developments and the way forward at the NDC’s Headquarters in Sekondi. He appealed to the media to be much concerned about issues in the western region and report appropriately.

Mr. Japhet Baidoo was worried about the deceitful claims by the ruling New Patriotic Party on the 1District-1Factory; an instance being touting an existing KEDA Ceramic Factory, a subsidiary of TWYFORD Company located at Aboadze in the Shama District of the western region as a success story.

According to him, the current Nana Akufo- Addo-led government are being dishonest to the citizens of Ghana and claiming projects they have not initiated as part of their failed 1District-1Factory scam. This according to him, must be challenged by the media.

The purpose of the media interaction was to thank and appreciate the efforts of the media in the western region for the past years and to establish mutual and cordial relationship with them as a political party.

He indicated that the NDC as partners of the media, is concerned about the development in the western region and the country at large.
