STMA To Issue Route Operating Permit For Transport operators in 2019

To help the city authorities regulate activities of transport services within the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolis, a Route Operating Permit will be required.

The issuance of the permit according to the mayor, Anthony Kobina Kuartri Sam, this will bring about orderliness and discipline at the various transport terminals and equally help ease congestion in the Central Business District of Takoradi.

He said, necessary engagements with transport operators and other stakeholders have been taken, to build some level of understanding from this new policy.

“For effective introduction of this policy, transport operators who are operating in the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolis have been adequately engaged for better understanding and appreciation of the new permit”, he noted

”The advantages of the permit among others include the assembly’s ability to take full control over the transport operators and improve services for the general public as well”e added.
